Have you ever worried about waisting your talent?

My co-worker has gotten me thinking about this recently. A friend of mine came to my worker with her baby and warned me that he is in the stage of playing strange, but when I took him he just snuggled into to me and was happy. Someone else took him and he cried. When I started working again my co-worker asked me why I never went into a field that involved children. I kind of shrugged it off but really It got me thinking, I've always been very good with children and was the babysitter everyone called because all the kids loved when I watched them. When I was young I had aspired to be a teacher or something with children and it never happened. I still love children but my job and training has nothing to do with them, have I wasted my talent or not? I am good at my current job so I guess there is that but I still wonder. Is there something your good at that would have been good for a job? Do you go into that profession?

We can be good at many things. I don't think you wasted your talent if you enjoy what you are presently doing. What I can conclude after reading your story is you have empathy and that's also a good thing.

I suppose I can be empathetic, I do enjoy my job and therefor wouldn't just give it up but I figure I probably would be great with children. I may have to find a hobby with children

I think I am good in making stories. Lol. But I don't apply it in any of my job before. My imaginations are wide.

My sister is great at story telling as well, but it is her hobby. I love reading her stories.

I wouldn't say you're wasting your talent. If you're good at what you're currently doing and enjoy it,by all means continue to do so. Chances are children do find you very nurturing. Children are so aware and can easily read into our energy. You would most likely be great in a career where your primary focus is working with children. So,to answer your question,no I don't think you are wasting your talent, chances are you're just not utilizing it.. Bright Blessings :) xx

@miesse2 you certainly could. I wouldn't be surprised that down the road so to speak, you make a transition into a field where you will be working with children.. Work towards achieving your dreams!!!! :) xx
