How do you spend your earned money? Do you usually buy your wants more than your needs? My wife's brother worked in a salon as a helper, while my brother works in our barangay. They have 6 children. All five are all students. They have a small place near our house. Sometimes they have issues with money because my brother is a drunkard who waste their money buying liquor. And there are times their kids can't go to school because they don't have money. Today is my brother's birthday. They prepared foods and went to the beach to celebrate. For me it's too extravagant. After this party, for sure they don't have money. They will going to eat salt again. Photo from google.com

That is a sad thing. Then if they don't have money do they ask someone for a money? I think their practice is not a good one. My mom always tell us to be wise in spending money. She wants us to prioritize saving than spending. I can say that I mostly spend my money in books or enrolling in classes. But I think those are better than spending money in vices.

@JustBhem I do not like dealing with those kind of people. They eat more than they can chew.

Yes, they will ask money or try to lend money from our nieghbors. I told them to celebrate birthdays in a simple dinner way. But the wife refuse. A social climber.

Most of the time, I spend my money on my needs, or needs of my family. But there are also times when I treat myself, and my parents. Hihihi!

If there is an extra savings why not. But these two doesn't have savings account and they don't know how to save.

I keep all of my money for a month and than spend it on things we need. Some months we have everything we need so I can buy something we want.

I also do that. I saved my money so that when it comes to emergency I have something in my pocket. But these two are very extravagant. They don't know how to save. Always lend and borrow money.

I am an extravagant person. I keep buying stuffs that are not very useful, but only because i like them, but i am surely trying to improve. But as for celebration, i feel i can spend much on making memories :)

But these two are way different. Instead of saving they'd go for something that is not useful to their needs. They have 6 childred, ages 1 to 8 yrs old. They still need to save.

It would be okay if they have a few family members but they are not. With 6 kids? You still think to of extravagant ideas rather than save them for the future of your kids.

much of my restricted income is tied up in needs so very little for luxuries - I try to have a few cinema or bar visits and hoping to get away for Easter weekend otherwise it's all food, rent, bills, etc

it's so frustrating to have a family member like that because you feel sorry for the children and end up helping them again and again.
