Kids or Puppets?

I wonder why so many parents force their kids to live upto their standards. They pressurize their kids to get the marks they, themselves desire. They should realize that the little minds they play with emotional drama are their kids, not some puppets! But deep down, I also feel that some of them have an unfulfilled dream and many kids would long to fulfill those but is doing so right? In either case, people of all ages have to learn to follow their hearts!

I know what you mean. A friend of mines husband expects their children to never have any cavities, lol and also have straight "A"'s in school and must take the classes that he thinks they should, no matter if it interests them or not because they can get the best jobs.

I think that's one of the dealings in the family. I think parents should know that the only thing they can do is to support and give bring out the best person in their kids and from that they should know that it ends there, and it is up to their kids on what to pursue in their own lives. Parents are just there to support and align the crooked oath at times. God bless.

I don't think parents should put so much pressure on their kids, as many are stressed out now. There is one Chuck E Cheese that I don't want the kids to be like the parents at all.

I don't like it when parents put so much pressure on kids either. I really had no idea how just OCD some parents are until I had my baby. They want their kids walking, and talking, and sharing, etc as soon as possible, even before I think the child is even capable of doing those things. But I do get the side of they just want what they think is best for their babies; but they go overboard in my opinion I try and remember that my daughter, even those she is a 2 year old with the nickname "Destructo-Baby", is a tiny person that is just trying to learn what life is about, and I want her to be her own person, not just what I think she should be.

May be because everyone wants their kid to see at first position. I know this is wrong, but many times kid don't know what they want or they don't realize how hard life can be if they don't reach somewhere. So a parent has the responsibility to make the kids realize it. Every thing is good, if they know the limit.
