Is it ok for you to be alone?

On dates like today (Valentine's Day), it's normal to rethink whether it is good or worth being alone. But I think the answer is quite simple: while you're feeling good about yourself, you don't have to live something that you do not want just to please society.
Being alone doesn't mean being sad, or unhappy... It's just a choice and people need to learn to respect that.

I wish more people understood that. I think it would be great to have a life partner but at 62 I've spend a lifetime making bad choices in romance. Something inside me apparently believes that I don't deserve a good man so I gave it up and am now single and happy with it. I like being alone and it's comforting to know that I'll never have my heart broken again by romance.

We all need some space for ourselves. A place where we can retreat to for solitude and reflection. But we are social animals and relationships need more than one person. But you're right. we should be honest with our selves and not put up a pretense because of peer pressure or in order to please someone.

I think nobody wants to be alone forever, no man is an island, we all need someone to bond and talk with.

I agree with you. Happiness is always a choice. It doesn't always mean that you are always with somebody but being alone sometimes is happier than having a bunch of annoying ones.

I live alone. But I´m not unhappy. Still, I´m a very social person.
