Contrary to the weather forecast, the second week of February has been warmer than the average. This is the third sunny day in the row and I have ventured in the garden to check if there are sign of nature waking up. I was pleasantly surprised to see some flowers in bloom. From left to right, top to bottom you can see a hellebore, pink primroses, yellow primroses and grape hyacinths. The hellebore and the grape hyacinths can resist even under the snow, the primroses usually come at the end of the winter. Should I hope that old father winter is ready to leave? I hope so, but I don't think so. There are flowers blooming in your garden right now?

We don't have flowers blooming yet, but my hubby told me the primrose, hyacinths and the crocus are coming up. What a wonderful sign of spring. Your flowers are magnificent.

There are no flowers around this early in England. In fact, there appear to be none in Switzerland either since I cannot see them.

@LadyDuck It is still not visible, but may appear later. The postcard image in Lany's post behaved the same way, being visible to me but not to you.

@Asylum It seems exactly the same problem, but when I came back the 4th time I was able to see it. This image is not too big, a lot smaller than the one of Lany.

We had a foot and a half of snow Monday and another half foot today so it is very hard to see the gardens. But I love your pictures!

I have seen a few hyacinths but no primrose yet. January has been very cold here, but today was quite a summer day, with 19°C, and we will probably see primroses soon.

@LadyDuck I remember the paw prints you posted. I also hope that the cold is gone for this year, but it is difficult to tell before the end of March.

@topffer No, I am sure that we are going to have some more cold days before the end of the months. Mardi Gras is always a cold day here. I think it's the 28th of February this year. For one year I am not celebrating my birthday during the Lent.

I have a potted hellebore from many years, now I see hellebore flowers blooming in several different spots in the garden, it's crazy how the seeds are spread by the wind.

@JudyEv The bamboo spread their roots like crazy, we contained the bamboo in a concrete container, but last year one root spread from the top of the container. I had do dig from where I saw the sprout and I found from where it came.

@LadyDuck And those that spread by their root systems sometimes come metres from the parent plant. We had a lantana that we eventually pulled out but we still occasionally get a small plant popping up somewhere.

Wow I would love to see signs of spring like that here. Everything I see is buried in snow. It makes it easier though to clean up my yard after the puppy though.

Sure you can keep flowers alive, pick up easy flowers like the marigolds, it is impossible to kill marigolds.

It's not funny to see laundry drying lines, they should add some colours to the lawn.

I have plenty of flowers and herbs blooming here in Florida. Lol! I'm certain my snowbells are in bloom at home, but lack any desire to fly home to take a peek. My grape hyacinths seem to bloom in April when we get home. Your flowers are so pretty. What a nice surprise for you to see!

The grape hyacinths suffered last week when it snowed, but most of them recovered and now they look healthy. I hope to see the daffodils soon.

@DianneN It depends how cold the winter has been. Last year we did not see the daffodils until mid April, but some years they bloom by mid March.

@LadyDuck Apparently, spring comes sooner in Switzerland than in my state of Connecticut! I won't see a daffodil until April 10th or so.

I don't call them flowers, they are weeds but I did see some tiny honey bees buzzing around last week. The blooms on those weeds are barely as big as the tip of my pinky.

Yes some of the Daffodils are already out Anna. So hopefully winter is not too long now before it is spring! I do love to see the little flowers pushing their way through the snow. Haha I note @Asylum says there are no flowers but then he does live in the Arctic northern regions of England and they are usually quite behind in things up there! I am looking forward to seeing the bluebells in the forests soon!
