That feeling of copying using a touch screen

I have avoided touch screen computers for years, I always had that thought of touching the screen will only make it smudged and dirty all the time. And though I had an earlier version of a smart phone, it couldn't do what my new phone can do and that is copy and paste links. I recently got a much better phone this year, so this is new to me. I wonder if anyone experiences what I experience and if this is something that will go away in time, and that is the feeling when I copy a link, that I can't use the same finger to go to another site to paste. Let me explain. For example; I am trying to send a link to my friend through e-mail or Facebook. I highlight the link with my finger, but when I touch the screen to go to the e-mail or Facebook, I literally use another finger, as if I used the finger I used to copy will mess up. I know it has to be psychological to feel the link on my finger and I wonder if this is something that goes away in time or not..

Hahaha, so you don't have that feeling that the link you copied is attached to your finger and you better not touch something or you'll lose the link? Not even in the beginning? You are unique.

Hi @Asylum, how are you doing? So what is your reason, the smudging? I found that isn't really the case. Because as I look at my phone and then my desktop computer screen, my desktop screen looks dirtier. I think because of the touch screen, I tend to clean it more often.

@Carmelanirel2 I realise that the screen is designed to be touched, but this was taboo for so long that it is second nature to me.

Really? I know some are still avoiding the newer phones and really, I don't blame them, but I needed a better phone for my lifestyle that has gotten much busier since I graduated.

Lol! I think we all have the same feeling in different times and situation. Yours was your finger while I was when I was reading.... As if I can read the next page even if my eyes was shut close. God bless

@Carmelanirel2 it really amaze me... I think God really make us this unique and powerful in some ways... But entertaining.. Hehehehe.... You have Filipino friends here? That was great to hear. God bless. The weather here is really cold but not freezing... I always wear long sleeves now or always bring my jacket. But the sun is beautiful every noon.

@luisadannointed Yes, I can't remember their names, I think one is Elaine and the other one, his name completely escapes me. When I find them again, I can't wait to tell them about my daughter's trip. As for it being cold, it is funny. My daughter was wearing shorts and a t-shirt to go jogging and one of the woman there said "aren't you cold?" Then when my daughter came back here, it turned out that we were having warm temperatures for this time of year. I was wearing a light jacket, but my son was wearing shorts, while my daughter had a jacket with her hood up on her head because she was so cold. It was about 50 F, which I believe is 10 C, but today is 35F which is about 1.6 C, yet with the sun shining, I am good wearing a light jacket.

Yes, I definitely think it is a psychological issue..Isn't it amazing how our brain is tricked like that?

Human beings are strange creatures, aren't they? I don't use a mobile so I can't really comment.

@JudyEv I have to have a mobile, especially now that we only have one car, I need to keep in contact with my husband as well as my son. It is strange, though after I created this post, I did copy and paste once and that feeling was weaker, so maybe it is something that will go away over time...

@Carmelanirel2 We have one mobile for emergencies. I know they are very handy, even essential in many cases.

I only have a dumb phone and do all of my computing at home and at work (desktops), so I can't really say.

Yep, I'm really new at it, but I love how I can use the phone to study, even when I am not at home.
