The other one is not juicy but very tasty. Majority of the people prefers the second one . In our language the first one calls koozha, and latter one calls Varikka. I love jack fruit both ripe and unripe cooked in coconut milk and eaten as vegetable, we even boil the seed of the ripe ones and eat it like nuts with a pinch of salt . There are quite a few though who do not like the smell of ripe jack fruit.

If you had a chance to visit south India there is plenty of chance to see the jack fruit trees. When we cut the jack fruit a white sticky gum comes from its cutting parts

Hey there. I love jack fruit but unfortunately where I live, we don't get this fruit often. It rarely comes in the market in raw form and whenever we get a chance we make stew with it.

That is great that people have found use for it now in some dishes. That is so much better then it just growing and going to waste. I have never heard of this fruit before so I have not eaten it either.

When ripe it becoming yello color. In raw it can use for various dish preparation. Plenty of nuts also used for curries. Jack fruit weighs average 7 to 8 kilos or more, so it may be the largest fruit in the world.

O Lol. I think you ate it mixed with other things. We ate it itself and When we eat it it is right that we have the smell of jack fruit and others soon recognize it. That is not means that it is a bad smell. we take our coconut oil in hands and face then wash with soap. Then there is no smell.
