Paying bills online.

Once I discovered the convenience and security of paying bills online, I don't think that I'll be doing it another way. It's a total saving of time.
Once, I spent too much time queuing up to pay a bill at their office, in the bank or post office with either cash or cheque. Plus I drive or take the public transport to go there, I'm spending not only time but money for gas or fare. And... it took me almost half if not the whole day due to distance from my house. I tend to spend more too as afterwards, I wander through the mall and end up buying stuff I don't really need.
Now, once I receive notification of my bills, I just do online banking and schedule the payment from my bank. It's that simple and easy, very quick too.
Do you pay bills online or you still don't trust that system?

My Bank pays most of the bills automatically. The only bill I pay online by myself are taxes.

@marguicha I see. We don't pay that kind of tax here, just for the income we receive.

@vickyrose Plus, when I pay the bills online and the money gets out of my account quicker makes it harder for me to buy stuff and blow my budget.

@vickyrose I think they'll get the hang of it sooner or later. I don't like writing checks!

@vickyrose Yes, some companies already have this option but here in my province, it's not yet implemented. We still have to go to their office to pay.

I pay bills online. The reason why I do that is because I don't trust the postal system. I have things lost in the mail. However, if I play online, I know for a fact that my bill was paid. And I can take a screenshot of my paid bill (just in case there's a glitch in the system).

That's correct. Same here, I have experienced missing payments through the post and I was charged a late payment fee of $20!

It is so easy and convenient. If they don't give a confirmation number or e-mail, I take a pic of the screen. Once, a company didn't see my payment and I had to send them a copy of my bank statement. I plan on keeping the information for a year, in case their systems gets invaded.

I go to the bank and pay my bills in person....usually with cash. Because I'm dealing with cash....I need to go to the bank anyway.

It depends of the kind of bills I have to pay. Some are going automatically through my bank account like the insurance for my car, for example. But I also pay several bills online. I can't remember when I last went to a bank standing in a queue to pay anything. That's something older people do here because they still need their notebook they are used too where the bank accounter writes down all movements.

I pay some of my bills online, and some over the phone.
Paying online is much more convenient, though. It means I can pay if I'm out of the country.

Paying bills online is a time and money saver if you have to go far to pay them but it can be a pesky thing sometimes too. When you pay online you sometimes have to pay a fee which if you have a lot of things to pay it turns out the same as if you had drove there to pay them. we pay a $3.50 fee every time for each transaction.
Internet, Cable, Cellphone and charge us this every time we make a payment. Sometimes we break up the bills and pay half and then the other half another day and those fees can add up quickly. For us it turns out to be the same either way. Also when you pay online your information gets stored and you sometimes get charged and then that is a whole other mess. So sometimes it is better to pay in person with cash.
