Which house is more preferable?

I just a concept of steel houses on the internet, somewhat different from the usual brick mortar houses we live in India.
Is it a good way to cut down the cost and do anyone have the idea of lifespan and reliability of these steel made houses.

Actually I don't know about the materials. But if you are going to ask me what kind of house I want... I want a brick wall outside and wood inside the house. I like woods because it makes me feel home. I want thick steel for the foundation and gives a space for extension of the house if needed.
