Girl Scout Cookies! I was lured in.

United States
February 18, 2017 2:35pm CST
It's Girl Scouts season! I have seen cookies all over my social media newsfeed but I didn't find any Girl Scouts selling in my area until today. I supported & bought a box of Mint Thins, my all time favorite! I love to put the cookies in the fridge & drink with milk. :) Did you purchase any Girl Scout cookies? Do you have a favorite kind.

I am an avid supporter of the Boy and Girl Scouting program and, this year, I've bought many boxes of cookies. My favorite are the shortbread. I also like thin mints and Thanks-a-lot. My wife likes the chocolate covered peanut butter patties.

@infatuatedbby I'm not sure what they call them, but my wife always buys a few boxes and keeps them in the freezer for "bad" days.

Samoas. I even bought some from a Girl Scout out in front of the bar once on Christmas.

Oh gosh . . . I know the parents that head the Girl Scout troop at our school. Their daughters were in my little son's class previously - and we know the families of the other girls (one is an ex-neighbor, another we knew from the YMCA a long time ago, etc etc). We are burdened with ALL these girls and families asking if we want to buy Girl Scout cookies from them! At $5 a box, I can't possibly afford to buy cookies from all of them. And apparently there is a "premium" one for $6. So we bought from the first girl that asked . . . and we use that as an excuse that we bought some already . I only bought Tagalongs this time. Long time ago they used to have these awesome lemon sandwich cookies - but they must have changed it - I don't like the current ones so much.

Which one is the premium $6! They should make a variety pack! Now my excuse if I come across any, I will say I bought some already too but I may want to buy another hehe

@infatuatedbby I have no idea what makes the premium "premium", but a couple of the parents told me that is the new one they have this year (I think it's actually called premium - costs a dollar more). Omg - a variety pack would be a seriously good idea - a good seller too! I know, a box is literally gone by the end of the day. Most likely the culprit is me .

@much2say Box is gone I guess no more cookies for my boyfriend and I. We are supposed to be on a diet and isn't working! Our party is coming up in 2 weeks! Yes, a variety pack would be awesome that way someone could sample them all! And know what's to buy next but all the cookies are pretty good anyway! I wonder what makes the premium premium still heheh.

We don't have this custom in Trinidad. Which make me kind of happy. I don't really like this practice much.

I support the Girl and Boy Scouts in my area. I haven't seen any cookies yet, as the grocery store didn't have anyone in front of it today. I see more Boy Scouts in my area and they do a food drive and a pet shelter collection of food and other pet items.

@infatuatedbby That is where I usually see them. Think their parents are keeping their children in as some of this state has closed roads and I'm sure they will sell lots of cookies in this area. My daughter and I put the cookies in the freezer.

@infatuatedbby We don't have the scouts here. Our students need to try to do the volunteering jobs in spare time.

I have already purchased and eaten about 10 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. My favorite is Thin Mints, although I like every single variety they offer! I have a weakness for Girl Scout cookies, and can't resist the temptation to buy them every time I pass a location where they are selling them.

@infatuatedbby Last year, one time when I finished grocery shopping, I bought a box of Thin Mints on the way out of the store. I finished the entire box before I got home from shopping (and I only live 5 minutes away from the grocery store)! LOL

Brings back memories of when I was a girl scou in my youth. No girl scout troup here, other than one day at church, since they share the building. The same for boy scouts. My favorite are the Peanut butter ones and Samoas.

Yep, it's Girl Scout cookie time. We have one girl at church that sells and she keeps a table full in the church basement. I want to try the new S'Mores ones. Thin Mints are my favorites that I think I need every year (even though the grocery store sells similar ones). Not sure if I will have an extra $4 that I feel I can spend on a box this year or not.
