Free Books Via Mail

I wanted to share a way to get free books for your preschoolers if you have any. If you don't have a library close by or money to buy books it can be hard to find something to read to the little ones. Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a good place to go to get free books sent to you in the mail. It is only for kids 5 and under. The website allows you to sign your children up and then they send you a book every month for free. I wish there were more programs like this but for now we have to be happy with the ones out there available to us. Maybe more will become available over time and if there is more awareness so that more people actually use the ones available to us.

I have heard of many good things Dolly Parton does for others. What an admirable lady she is!

It is nice to see people who have fame and fortune do something other than use it to benefit just themselves.

It really is awesome that she has this so many kids will benefit also because schools seem to have less and less books everything is done electronically. Sad thing is in like 100 years from now kids will probably be like what's a book? I have ever seen a real book lol sad and funny at the same time living like the jetsons in flying cars.

@missjessicadawn No definitely not the not knowing what a real book is like but I think the flying cars thing was kind of cool hey and the machine that makes the dinner appear come on that is awesome. What parent who comes home tired from a long day with a big family wouldn't like something like that? I could see it happening though due to lack of natural resources and well because all of the technology we have making life easier it could never know.

I also wrote a post about this quite a few months ago. Excellent charity.

I think it really is you don't see many programs to support reading for young kids.

I have heard about this. What a wonderful scheme Dolly has set up. I'm glad you're taking advantage of it.

I happen to find out about it and thought it was great because books for kids ae not cheap. I was a little bummed its only until age 5 because our oldest child likes reading and buying him books has been costly in the past. One time we got a boxed book set and it cost like $25 he read them in weeks time and then was requesting the other boxed sets that followed.

@JudyEv No we don't we aren't close to anything. The nearest store is like 10 miles away. Even if it was we wouldn't be able to get there with either of our vehicles. We would have to get a ride which is why we usually do everything online no public transportation where we live. We are in a very country style living setting which is very laid back. The house we lived in up the road was across the street from a hay field. We would sit and watch them use the tractors and other large farming equipment. New to her she grew up in NYC.

I hope more people get books for their children through this program. I'm happy to tell my friends about this one. Thanks for posting.
