Yankee Candles

I don't light candles often; however, my daughter loves them. She lights them, so thought it would be good to get one of the candles I'm going to list the scents and see which one others think would be a great scent. The scents are Pineapple Cilantro, (green jar) Flowers In The Sun, (Yellow Jar) Mediterranean Breeze, (Blue Jar) or Red Raspberry (Red Jar). The last time I brought home a candle for her birthday and turns out she picked the same one. I would pick the red raspberry, as her favorite color is pink. The candles are Yankee Candles and I like the brand. Hope somebody can tell me about Cilantro. Is it a strong scent?

Thanks for the reply. Normally, I would just buy the red one, but want to surprise her and do the unexpected. I just hope its not to strong.

@LadyDuck Thanks I use to make candles and all were unscented. Actually, miss making them, so might try doing it again.

@Fishmomma I do not think it would be too strong.

I would pick the red raspberry as well. I like yankee candles I got one in a basket from my mom with another candle my scent was lavender lemon. I put mine on a candle warmer no lighting and it still gives off a good scent.

I plan to buy a candle warmer, as that would certainly be safer. Right now, I'm thinking of getting her two, as this way she will be surprised with the choice I would pick and 1 Mediterranean Breeze, as my climate is so mild. Thanks for posting.

@Fishmomma I like the candle warmers because it makes the candles last longer to me and you don't light them with this. I am going to look for a new candle today to burn on my candle warmer. I hope your daughter likes your choices.

Yankee candles are good. The best kind of wax is soy wax. When I had a place of my own my daughter (then a child) made soy candles with nice scents. I would like to make them again using essentials oils in them. But the company that we got our supplies from is now closed down. and where I am staying now I am not allowed to make them or burn the candles or any oils.

Great I'll look for Soy Wax, as thinking of making candles this year for holiday gifts. I like to give homemade gifts and not planning to bake lots of cookies, as I'm trying to cut back on eating sweets. I tried every kind of cookie last year and am sure it was way to many calories. Thanks for the help.

Although I am not into candles, there is a Yankee candle shop out in P.A. where my evil ex lives. I never went into the store, but it seems to be somewhat popular.

Yankee Candles are popular. I don't buy candles often, so really not sure how strong the scent. Thanks for posting.

@Fishmomma You're welcome. My girlfriend loves them but I don't like candles because they can start fires. And some scents are just way too powerful.

I think if you know your daughter likes the raspberry one you should get that.

I have decided to get two of them and yes will be getting the raspberry. I'm going to wrap them up in a basket with several other items including a candle warmer. The biggest reason I asked to see if others could tell me about the other scents, as one was mentioned and so will be getting it also. This way she will get a surprise and maybe find another scent that she will want to buy in the future. Thanks for posting.

To be honest I don't really into scented candles. And I am really want to use rechargeable lights because I am so forgetful of things just to avoid and accidents.

I understand and usually use a flashlight for power outages. I use a candle for special dinners, but its usually unscented, so I don't know very much about scents. Thanks for posting.
