Dear Lotters,
I have just accomplished my property taxes payments for 2017.
I am joyful that I succeeded to pay.
For us, Bulgarians, owing property is equal to be at the top. Having property is at the first place among Bulgarian things ratings. Owing property means stability for Bulgarians.
So I succeeded to pay my taxes for the flat, the garage, the rural house, and the rural lot.
I am happy that I managed to do it by my own finances without any debts. This is pure Bulgarian feature.
What about your property taxes this year?

I do not have those taxes as I rent.
I remember when I lived in two houses here and the property taxes were $1000 and more on each for the year.

In the USA, some pay a portion of taxes each month to their mortgage lender. The lender makes the payment when it is due. Some like this arrangement b/c they feel it makes it easier for them to have the money ready when due.
Others pay on their own, so at the time of year when it is due, they will pay one payment.
In some areas of this country, people pay $8,000 USD or more each year in property taxes alone. Most places also have a tax each year on the cars that are owned. There is a sales tax on every purchase. There are taxes on all services, such as cable, phones, electricity.
Phew-gives me a headache to think about it!
