Rough Day

I pray that anyone with an autistic child does not truly understand the depths of this post. Today I was reminded how absolute alone I was. Please don't get me wrong. God takes care of me. I have friends that I talk to on the phone, cousins, a brother, and people I text as well. I just realized though that I am truly alone when it comes to having anyone to count on when it matters. I have no one that can help with my son. He is 12 now and the grandparents don't want anything to do with the kids. They are too old and just want peace. This didn't come as a surprise. They were never much on kids to begin with. Life is messy and you can't always clean it up. Hearing that tonight just made me realize how alone I truly am when it comes to raising my children. There is no one for me to ask questions, although after 12 years how much more could possibly come up that is unexpected, no one just to tell what happened and how proud of them I am, and no one to stay with for a visit. I don't know who said it takes a village, but what happens when the village is deserted? If you have special needs children I hope you have someone to babysit for you once in a while, someone to give you advice, and someone to lend an ear when you need it. Who is the one that is there for you?

When things are resolved for me, I hope you, DE, Pony, DE's daughter, and your kids...all come and stay ...with me...we can be a commune...happy go lucky....looking after one another...I love kids...I am nuts about them...12 or even younger...I can manage...and be as bad as them...most of the time...unbelievably noisy...I am a rotten cook...especially your kinda of food, but we will manage..nobody will feel helpless...

This made me laugh. I can only imagine. From the cooking aspect, DE or his daughter will have to cook if anyone is to survive. I hope things work out for you.

@vandana7 I think you just need to fly over the sharks and come to the US. Besides the only shark that will get you is DE.

Dearheart, I have not read this discussion. I am here to drag @moffittjc over here to show him when you last posted. BTW, some of us miss you.... A LOT! Would it be too much to ask for you to at LEAST text once in a while? Now, I will find where you've been latest and drag Jeff there, too.

What is your autistic child doing right now? How are the other children? Are they able to help/support him?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. This is an extremely busy time of the year. I only have two children, a boy and girl, by my ex. My daughter is getting better about telling him when he is doing something he shouldn't and sometimes demonstrates how to do something, but not very often. If you have ever watched "Big Bang Theory" she is Sheldon. I saw part of 60 minutes the other night and they did a segment on "Sesame Street". Evidently, "Sesame Street" is introducing an autistic character named Julia. It sounded amazing. The general autistic symptoms of Julia can be found in most autistic children. I hope I get to see one of those episodes.

I'm so sorry you feel like the village is deserted. I hope you can find someone who will listen and give a lending hand.

I changed insurances and at least they were trying before the hurricane. I'm hoping everyone is alright.
