We Got an "Air Cast"

We had Jay's appointment for a check up with the surgeon today to see how his broken leg/ankle/foot is healing. The xrays looked good. The plaster cast around his leg and foot was removed and he was given an "air cast" which looks like a big plastic boot. It is removable which we are very thankful for because he really didn't want it in a plaster cast for the foreseeable future. He had a lot of blood collection in his foot so now he is on antibiotics to make sure he doesn't get an infection or blood clot. We have to go back to the doctor next week for another check up, then after that it will be another month until we go back again to reassess. He can't put any pressure on it still and will still be using his wheelchair and crutches. We have a long way to go, but he is so glad that the original cast is off, so that makes me happy (Photos free for public use from Pixabay.com)
