Working on These Again Today

It's been a week since I've worked on the challenge project, so today is the day to work on it again. If you remember my post from last week, I had 3 of the 16 blocks sewn. Now you can see that last week I got 3 more done. I won't complete any today or over the weekend, at least I don't think so. I am working the other 10 that I need all together one step at a time. I changed from my first design thought to another one, but now I'm contemplating yet another way to do it. I will, of course, make my final decision before sewing them all together. Maybe I will ask in my blog which design I should use and see if anyone will give me advice. I see many others doing so in their blogs. I have laundry in the washer to hang out to dry...at least I hope it will stay dry outside long enough for them to dry! I've already taken my mom to get her commodity foods. Now I'm raring to go on my computer stuff (with some housework mixed in too)

I love making the tops and learning new techniques, but I don't like to finish them after the top is done. These the pieces are numbered on a paper and you sew them on to the paper then tear the paper off.

@AranciataRoss Before you start sewing the fabric on you take the thread out of the machine and needle down the lines on the papers to make it easier to bend when trimming the fabric after it's sewn on. They say you really should change your needle after you do a stack of papers because it dulls the needle but I never have.

@marsha32 the paper doesn't mess with your needle?

I say post here as well and get opinions as well. I like the pieces in the picture above as well. I can't wait for our spring weather to come and stay so we can hang our clothes out to dry we line dry outside in the summer and spring time I love the smell of clothes from being hung outside.

@Tina30219 There is a line hanging in the utility room then we end up hanging over the shower rods and I have one of those wooden drying racks too. The house smelled so good last night after my daughter did a load because she uses Gain.

Our 220 wiring is chewed up by an animal so we have to hang outside...or in the house. But, in the warmer weather I have always hung it out to save energy.

It is nice you are keeping up with your crafting hobby and I think a challenge can keep you on track at times too.

I doubt I would be working on this at all if there wasn't a deadline as to when it has to be done.

@jhechorain I might have misunderstood you too. I thought you were saying it was good that it was a challenge that has to be done.....I should just put my own deadline on the things I make. Christmas bags HAD to be done in time for Christmas. Now I'm working on the projects with the yo'yo's that have to be done in time for the lady who ordered them to hang them for this next Christmas season.

@PatZAnthony I'm to the point of thinking that I really want to finish all these things I have started because what if I die soon? Morbid thought, I know.

@marsha32 There are just not enough ours in our life to do all we want to do! Then, one day you wake up and see 3-4 years worth of things you really wanted to finish. Just how it is for all of us?

I have been cooking all evening. I had thawed some chicken and it had to be used. Made two dishes. Now I just want to take a shower and go to bed soon.

Lately I want to go to bed a lot. I'm so late getting on here today as we had council meeting after church and the meeting went way too long.
