UK weather

So I have been thinking for a little while now how the whole of the UK loses their s**t when we have weather warnings for wind, rain, snow and even sun. There are countries out there that have it a lot worse and deal with it better than us. The amount of Facebook posts I see when one snow flake falls is hilarious my favourite... "uurrgghh I hate snow" it's one flake get over yourself!!

The only nice thing about snow is how gorgeous it is to look out at! When you get older, heading outside to have a snowball fight... isn't that much fun any more lol!!

I have elderly neighbours and when we have snow even though its just a little I always check if they need anything from the shop when I go. I'd hate for them to go out and slip. I always think it would be perfect if it stayed off roads and paths and just stuck to grass, trees just places we don't need for walking/driving.

That's exactly the way it is here in Arizona! We have snow in the mountains but here in the desert we don't. We don't have much rain. It's blue, cloudless skies nearly every single day (it's very, very depressing!) and even breezes are rare. So when it does rain, even just a few drops, people start wailing and complaining about the "bad" weather--if you're on the freeway when it begins to rain everyone jams on their brakes at the first drop on their windshield! Those who usually go ten-fifteen miles over the speed limit begin to crawl along as if a drop of rain is made of acid. And the wind--OMG, if we get any breeze over 2 miles per hour the news interrupts any programs for a wind warning. OMG, winds may reach a whole 20 MPH!!! In the "winter" when the temperatures might dip to 40-50 Fahrenheit at night and in the 60s or 70s in the daytime we are told to bundle up and they start going over precautions if your heater breaks or if you get stranded on the roadside. In the summer the weatherman says "it's going to be sunny and warm with a high of 115". WARM?!! That's HOT!!!!! I hate this place and the spineless pansies living here. Well, at least for as long as I'm typing this.

It's good to have a rant every now and then :) Anything over 20celcius and they have a break down anything under 4celcius its the same. Yesterday we had gusts of up to 80mph that's strong for us but only lasting a couple of seconds each time. I cant even begin to imagine if we had winds like America. Hurricanes tornados. The whole country would be on lock down! Now that is something to lose your mind about.

As a country we don't have the extreme weather of other places so when some bad stuff comes our way we aren't geared up to deal with it. In my area we regularly get flooding. I remember a few years ago when a water treatment place in Tewkesbury got flooded and Cheltenham had no water. Bowsers were on the streets but it was a big issue for a while. We need more of those keep calm and carry on posters We are becoming a nation of p*ssies

@sarah2592 Like when the railways said services were not open due to the wrong type of snow on the rails

Haha I absolutely agree with the keep calm posters. Seriously though can you imagine if we had as much snow as Canada. Like I said to someone earlier, the whole country would be on lock down we wouldn't have a clue. Utter mayhem.

@Mike197602 haha how can snow be the wrong type. Absolute nonsense. Schools being closed due to snow as well is a joke. Can you get to the main entrance? Are the majority of roads open? What is the point in shutting them? It's a case of anything to have a day off work/school. Not that I'd mind a day off but it's never that bad especially near me.

a little snow is great which is all we get in the UK. It causes utter mayhem though.
