With divorce rates sky rocketing over the last few years, there's becoming more and more families that are blended.
Including me! Am I alone here? I honestly feel like there are quite a bit more struggles when two families become one. But there are also a lot more triumphs!!
My family consists of myself and my son from my previous marriage, my husband and his son from a previous marriage, and together we have a baby girl.
What's your story?

Even in the country where I live in divorce has become a serious problem a 30 years back if someone was divorced one would view them with suspicion. But now it has become such a thing especially among youngsters that they spend a lot of money and within a year we come to hear that they are no more a couple. This is a sad reflection of society and human relations in general. But the earlier majority of them continue to chug along till they reach their end destination of their life together which is a very good thing. As in your case in my country if in the case of a unfortunate passing away of one of the partners a second marriage is conducted and the new couple with their children life happily together. It is a thing that the child who does not have a mother gets one and the other child get a father. Thus it makes a complete family which is helpful in problematic situations in life. One more thing observed are in the case of the young who get divorced both of them are highly educated, earn well and have big ego and attitude which is not good for a long and happy marriage. As this relation is of give and take, understand and appreciate each others position and feelings finally appreciate each others good qualities while accepting the negatives too as a whole package. Hope this information is useful.

So your family reminds me of the movie I watched 'Yours, mine and ours' So does yours come under 'triumph'?

There must be dozens of blended families out there and I'm sure occasionally they run into problems. That's what humans do!

I agree. Just sharing my personal story and asking to hear from others. Perhaps I worded wrong. I feel like people are thinking I'm promoting divorce or something, lol.

@mrsandersen Sometimes people read the wrong things into posts. We come from different backgrounds and different countries; there is no body language or speech inflexions here to help us get meaning from the text so there is bound to be some misunderstandings from time to time.
