I have to rethink

Recently some of the things I went through my life made me think and remember something I learned when I was young . My religion has taught me something that is trying to make sense to me these days . I am not here to force my religious teachings to anyone , just sharing my story. The teachings says like this . In order to understand the real character of a person you need to travel with him/her or do a financial transaction with him/her. No matter how close or loved ones are the ones involved in this 2 activities , only a few came out to be very true and sincere and caring from their heart . Now it makes me rethink who are the real relatives or loved ones and who are the one just pretending to be one . I would love to hear from my dear friends here , how did affect their life or experience while travelling with a relative or loved one or during a financial transaction. Have a great day friends allover

In my country we have a rule, never make financial transactions with your relatives if you do not want to lose them.

When it comes to relatives, I have learned they are the least to be trusted in any case. Sorry to say..

I don't know about financial transactions but if you ask money from someone, whether borrowing or just asking, their true colors will start to show. The same goes to traveling. You'll know how much they understand and willing to go for you.

Very true , at least travelling helps us understand the true colour of an individual

I can see how that teaching would hold true... I guess when you travel with them it means you spend a good amount of time of the day/night with them to know their true character throughout - when you would eat, talk, sleep, or even face difficulties together... And about financial transaction - well, we all know how $$$ can drag people into dishonesty...

My husband says that to see a person's character, just play a round of golf with them.

@suhail1 I guess when you're playing golf, you can see if the person is honest, fair, considerate, humble, good company, or any of the qualities that are important in life.

Yes you are right person's true character is revealed during financial transactions and while . travelling. My friend is so stingy that while travelling she would wait until for other friends to pay for the ticket. On the contrary my best friend swati is so generous hearted despite her financial condition is not good.

That's what I have noted too, people who are not that rich tend to be quite generous
