Hiding Jewelry in Food - Romantic or not?

United States
February 25, 2017 1:54am CST
As much as I love food, I sure would not be happy with finding a 'potential' ring or jewelry in my food either. I could foresee a lot of wrong happening - potentially cracking a tooth, choking, accidentally swallowing the jewelry and so forth. I have never heard of any my family or friends being proposed this way, but have you? Or have you known anyone who had jewelry in their food? Do you think this method would be romantic? They do have subscription candles where you'll find a jewelry piece (ring) though! Just a random discussion post before I head to bed in a few minutes. Looking forward to reading responses in the morning. Thank you & Have a lovely weekend!

I once found one piece of earring in my food... I didn't find it romantic... It's disgusting... LOL I am not sure if it's a piece of earring of the cook...

Oh yes, that would NOT be romantic if the earring piece was from the cook or an employee. But would you want to be proposed to with jewelry in your food?

@brokenbee Yeah but I am glad you found it before having it go straight to your tummy. Did you tell the restaurant?

It is romantic but someone could die from choking. I would love to be surprised but maybe not that kind of surprised.

Hmmmm. Yah, I don't think I'd want to be proposed that way . . . kinda gross having a nice ring with sauce or crumbs all over it? And yah, I wouldn't want to choke or break my teeth !

@infatuatedbby It might be romantic if the ring were put on top of a cute cupcake .

To me it's a cliche, almost as original as proposing on the Jumbotron at the ballgame.

I think it is romantic although I have seen it from movies already However, I am not sure whether it is a good idea. Try to image the girl may just eat the food with the jewelry, it is very possible. Or she will break her tooth and this will be a big trouble. It is better to try another romantic way

Yes in movies it always works out but in reality I don't know. Cute gesture but I don't think it will be a good idea lol

I agree with you. Jewelry in food? Not romantic. The candles? OK. It can pass as romantic. But I would really prefer a good old-fashioned box!

I'm not too keen of hiding jewelry in food. I'd be afraid I'd accidentally swallow it.

Ugh! Not a good idea in my book to hide an expensive piece of jewelry in food or in a candle. I like the traditional way.

I personally won't like it..It would be better if he proposes directly...eye to eye..No hide n seek through food at least.....
