I have a friend here who says she has a great appetite for prayers. She will not miss a single occasion to visit the church and join in the prayers that are organised there. I am more spiritual and prefer to be alone with God. How is it with you? What are your thoughts on this?

I am sorry but I don't think God exists.

At times, even alone or In the church, if I don't feel like praying I will just be looking at other people until I will be like, oh let me pray also. What I mean is that, even as it is good to always pray, I still believe it is the Holy Spirit who can inspire us to do so at all times. It is the Holy Spirit who can give us the appetite for prayer.

Each of us relate to God in our own way. What is important is that you get the peace you are looking for whatever the route.

@allknowing that's true but sometimes I feel I am not praying enough. People say Prayers could be offered in different ways, you may be walking and praying the same time. I agree but I don't feel fulfill if I haven't go to a secluded place to pray.

I love praying in my quiet time alone, usually in my room or in our garden. Upon waking up and before going to bed. Also before and after meals

@allknowing @1creekgirl I always remember the acronym A.C.T.S. which stands for adoration, confession, thanks giving and supplication

I think private and group prayers are both important. In a church or group, we can share our burdens and pray for each other and in private, we can have a special time with God, talking to him and listening to the Holy Spirit.

I feel there is a lot of distraction in churches - just my view.

@1creekgirl Looking around and watching those who are seen often in group prayers I hardly find them happy in their life considering many pray for their happiness. At the end of the day, I feel it is our own efforts that bring results.

@allknowing Group prayers shouldn't take the place of our private time with God, but they have their place.Without hearing the prayer requests in church, we wouldn't know what situations to pray about. And I don't think you can ever have too many people praying for you!

I do pray in church. Your friend sounds like a very religious and spiritual person. I do pray at home sometimes too.

My concept is slightly different. I believe in service rather than prayers
