Suddendeath poetry challenge, Brown!

February 25, 2017 10:07am CST
Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Brown! Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s' poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: eyes, brown, look, watch, gaze My response is, as always, below: I miss the eyes that watch me close, The gaze of brown that always knows, When I was sad or needed a kiss A nose from a puppy that I now miss. The soul housed in a body small, Who looked and waited for me each day all, And happy to see me he always was, A bundle of love packed on four small paws. Happy for him and his new family I of course am, The sad for me though is not a sham, I miss the eyes that watched me close, The gaze of brown that always knows.

Gazing through the expanse of brown stopped, the zen of wonder its eyes this and eyes that the look is expectation and need watching for my raised hand you're off and soaring! Rounding the curve of the jump your soul not captured yet alive to my demand we two round the agility field, eyes, breath, tandem teamed.

eyes, brown, look, watch, gaze My Mother's eyes, they sparkled and shined. I gaze into them now looking for that spark. Today her brown eyes glowed. The look on her face was one of joy. She spoke to her best friend and smiled. All we could do was sit back and watch and gaze into those brown eyes, as they sparkled and shined once again.

Bitter sweet poem. I'm sorry for your loss but knowing you, it was what needed to be.

Beautiful poem Jess. It's been months since I did my last one. Here's one I can think of, off the top of my head. My mother loved Crystal Gayle's "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue", A classic turn she loved to sing along, too, with her soothing tune, An oldie but a goodie in pop music, a favorite to withstand the time, If I played it on Youtube, it would remember me of my mother always. As the three-year anniversary of her passing away is slowly approaching next month, I would look for her heavenly spirit in the skies and have her close to my heart, She would be gazing from her cloud with my aunt and grandfather and cat, Knowing they would forever watch over me as I won't shed another fallen tear.

Reading your poem here and seeing those words, I am unable to write anything, seeing Woof, the Papillion, and his brown eyed gaze, gone now over two years. What is this water in my eyes? Must be the rain.

Do not look at me with innocent eyes I am so exhausted with all your lies. Do not drown me in your gaze I am fed-up of your ways. Shut those brown eyes and stop watching me I have given up... we are now both free.
