Loud music from a party here wouldn't let me sleep

It's past midnight here and there is this loud music coming from a hotel close to my house. I think they are partying but it's late, yet the music is too loud. How I wish I could sue them for disturbing my peace but here, such thing is not possible. Do such a thing do Happen in your area too?

In our small town (and in whole Switzerland) you cannot make noises (or play loud music) after 10 PM. I would have called the police and they would have taken care of the matter.

@pureme The police comes out immediately here. It happened last year during summer, a group of young people was making a lot of noise in a nearby park, we called the police, they came immediately and the noise stopped.

@avi256 and that is how it happens, when you listen to a music over and over again, you won't know when you will start to sing the music, it will automatically register in your brain, so also is all these loud noises.

If there's no choice, one would get adapted to it, though it might be very difficult at first

Yes, these things happen in our area also when some unmindful party poppers keep playing loud music through DJs or play religious songs on loud speakers during some religious function. These kinds of people are heartless and least care about infirms, old, sick people or little kids. I also wish to sue such people but I know it is not possible.

@pureme Yes, you are right that even Police doesn't do much. We learn to live because we don't want to escalate it so as to avoid further arguments or confrontation.

Yes, you can not sue them, it is the police who should do their job, unfortunately, they will not. And that is why we just learn to live with it, this is for peace to reign or you think otherwise?

@dpk262006 you are correct,we don't want argument to escalate, some police officer here can even say you have committed an offense by harassing them.

I too have spent sleepless nights many times for the same reason. It becomes much more problematic if someone is ill in your family and needs rest or if someone is preparing for exams.

@else34 some people don't care about how others feel, how will you be disturbing the peace of the community while enjoying yourself at the party, I feel a kind of secluded place be put in space for party, or don't you think so?

Yes, I love a quiet environment, such a place will be peaceful, the present place I'm staying is very close to the roadside, so even if there's no party in the night, in the afternoon, there's always noise of cars passing

I feel it's the responsibility of the hotels to curb disturbances they create. Or serious action should be taken against them.

the hotels should consider the community they are. they should not always think of themselves alone. well if the Government of this country look into that, it will be better. you know, we are not saying they should not play music or enjoy themselves, but there should be a certain time it will be put to a halt.

@spaceseed oh I am so sorry to hear that my friend, it is not easy for work from home. Just like you said, the construction will be over, though some construction takes a longer period.

that is another problem. and you will not be able to say, they should not construct. they have put you in a tight corner. but it is still cool since the whole activity of construction will stop at night.
