We need to spend more on our defense budget?

Let's see, we spend 625 billion dollars annually (2013 budget). That is 18% of the total US budget. That is also more than the next seven countries combined, including Russia and China. Veterans' health gets 1.8%, proving what "great" care we are taking of the people we send to fight our wars. Other interesting figures shown by a pie chart provided by the Congressional Budget Office include Medicaid and Children's' Health Insurance (8%), Social Security (23%), and Medicare (14%). Our new President wants to add another 54 billion to military spending and pay for that with cuts from other parts of the budget, meaning hang on, folks. Medicare, Medicaid, and other social programs will be the first to suffer. Here is a link to the CBO pie chart. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/4/15/1292380/-Federal-Spending-In-One-Beautiful-Pie-Chart

I just saw on the news where the security for his immediate family is costing tax payers big bucks. How can we pay for all of this. More in the budget for military and more for infrastructure and all the rest he wants to do. It doesn't make sense to me because he also want to lower taxes.

Yes, the personal security of the Trumps is costing an outlandish amount. This is really a typical Republican thing he wants to do with the budget.

@JamesHxstatic ....I think he has some good ideas but he needs to learn how government works. It's not like big business.

I've seen the chart. Something has to change and someone must be ousted. His own party is against it.

Vince read and told me all these figures. I think Australia spends something like $60 billion.

I thingk only one reason can explain this problem, that is American people was rich enough to offer this bugget. Conversely, it is impossible to spend this large amount of money to military in china ,because this country is so poor and millions of people are suffering from starvation, but the budget rate is on the highside too. So you should be happle as American people. haha!

Cutting PBS and NPR will definitely cut that budget!
