I'm feeling pretty dejected tonight.
I really had my heart set on getting a chance to see a specific rental property. I emailed the property management company about it a week and a half ago, but never heard back in response to my inquiry. Today I finally got the chance to stop in at their office, only to find that they have a pretty long wait list for that property and the other one they have that's in our ideal price range.
In other words, our chances of getting to see that unit are probably in the slim to none range. And I've been keeping an eye out on available rentals, but there's pretty much nothing in our range available now.
Not gonna lie, I'm kinda sorta scared we're not going to find anything by the end of April. It seems so darn close...
But on the bright side of things, my husband rented a storage unit and started moving some things out of here today. And my neighbor, who's in the same boat we are, just stopped by and asked if I'd help her with a yard sale this weekend. I wasn't planning on doing one, since it's so much hassle, but the extra money will be very welcome.
I'm trying really hard to stay upbeat... it's tough when so much is up in the air, though!

I know! It's unbelievable how expensive things are in certain parts of the country.

@mysdianait I know... I probably do the exact opposite of most everyone on here... I read, read, and read some more before I decide to start a discussion, to respond or to comment... At the end, I often don't post anything at all but have read plenty of stuff...

Keeping my fingers crossed that you find something in your range and to your liking very soon - there's still time!
Would you be willing to be out a little farther than your intended area? That's what we had to do in buying this house . . . I wasn't thrilled with it at first but there weren't many buying options for us at the time. I had to jump hoops on things because we moved further out, but somehow we made it work. I actually loved the rental situation because we could move if we needed to . . . with an owned house (especially out here where the prices are insane now), it's more complicated. The thing is, rent in our previous area has skyrocketed, so I can't complain much about the financial end even though I went through a lot of headaches living here in the less nicer neighborhood.
