My friend had a travel to Male, the capity city in Maldives. When I looked at this city name at first, I found it very amusing. She had a travel in a city called Male

We live near a little tiny town named Conetoe. You can tell when people aren't locals, they pronounce it like it looks: Cone Toe. But it's a Native American word pronounced Kuh NEE' Duh.
