Herding cats - an apt description

Vince and seven mates get together once a week for a very informal game of golf. Four or five of the eight are Vietman vets and at least three are on TPI pensions (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated), mostly with mental health issues. They are all around 70 and have a wild time, abusing each other, no doubt belching and farting.
They play mates' rules. It's very bad etiquette to throw a golf ball out of the rough but it is okay to kick it out. One man carries four balls in his pocket. If his first hit isn't very good, he just had another go with the next ball. Afterwards they have coffee and fries although the latter isn't recommended for any of them.
Plans are in hand to travel to Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia. Yes, we have a Denmark too. It's like herding cats to try to get a consensus from them but now the date has been set and we will each book on our own.
Herding cats is, I think, a great description for the problems involved in trying to get eight men to concentrate long enough to agree on anything. I'm sure we'll have a great time. The men will play golf and the ladies will shop, drink coffee and eat cakes. What could possibly go wrong?
Photo is of pelicans practising their dance routine in Denmark.

What can go wrong?? Just because you asked the question I think alternative plans are in order lol. And what's with the belching and farting anyway, my men folk are like that too.

@LadyDuck I may need to develop a very bad headache - Plan B. I hurt my back putting up the caravan annex - Plan C. I have food poisoning - Plan D (that one is always foolproof to get me out of some event). That should be enough, don't you think?

As soon as I say what could possibly go wrong, I feel I need to cross my fingers and toes! We don't really have a B plan but maybe we'll have to walk dogs all day. Two couples have no dogs, one couple has two, another couple has one, another couple has a new dachshund that they paid $1,000 for (more money than sense I think) and another couple has a new little puppy. The last couple - the wife is allergic to almost everything, including dogs, so yes, we might need a plan B! Maybe I'll just stay home. After writing all that down - I hadn't thought of it before - home is beginning to look really good. And we haven't even left yet!

Anything and everything. Asking what could possibly go wrong, sounds like an invitation.

It does doesn't it? And commenting to Anna, I've just realised there will be five little dogs tagging along and one lady is allergic to dogs and just about everything else. Oh well, at least it will make an interesting post perhaps.

@Morleyhunt I'm thinking I might need to feign a head-ache and stay in my caravan!

There is a video on Youtube of an old advert about cowboys herdings cats. These things amuse me! Just say at this point that I don't trust pelicans after one was busy eating pigeons in St James' Park

I have seen this before. It's great isn't it? I should think there'd be plenty of pigeons for everyone. Are pelicans common in St James' Park? I wouldn't have any idea really but I've never thought about pelicans in London's parks. And have you heard this before:

I thought that you would have to play golf too and I didn't think that would be very much fun... but the shopping, drinking coffee and eating cake... sounds good to me!!

With a different group of friends, another wife and I went along for the walk. At least we thought we were going for the walk but the men thought we were caddying. We got the sack as we kept looking at birds instead of where the ball went. Coffee and cake sounds much more fun anyway. :)

It should be a lot of fun. There will be a camp kitchen at the caravan park so we can have our evening meals together too.
