My kids adopted a kitten, again!

If I am not mistaken, my kids adopted a kitten two years ago. They enjoyed playing and taking care of the kitten, but it ran away after a few days we were not at home.
The kids have always been looking around and trying to look for any stray cats that they can take care of and play with. Yesterday they found this kitten wandering, and it doesn't belong to anyone, so my kids brought it home joyfully.
The kids have been very busy playing with the kitten almost the whole day. It's good for them to learn how to take care of the animals.
Do you have any pets?

@LadyDuck It's so nice of you to let the cats enter your house. Before my youngest baby was born, my children just brought the kitten into the house too, though I didn't really like it, at last I just let them be. But now, as my baby is always crawling around, so I can't let it come into the house.

My husband likes German Shepherd Dog, and I wonder when we can have one dog. Yes, I think taking care of dogs needs lots of work, hence we can't afford to have one now. We used to have a Labrador a few years ago.
I hope the kitten is happy with the kids. I am afraid my kids are too excited and they might scare the kitten away.

The kitten would get used to them I would think.
A German Shepherd loses a lot of fur during the year in fact all year round and they have boundless energy and it needs for them to have at least half an hour exercise a day good run say.
Its good for them to run and get a bit tired.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Perhaps it's good for you to run together with your dog. Labrador loses a lot of fur too. We used to find whole chunk of fur in the yard where my dog slept. It's

Thanks. I think many kids like animals, especially small animals, as they are very adorable too.
I think it's a bit difficult for working people to take care of a pet. We used to have a dog before we had kids, we didn't have much time to play with the dog and let her go for a run every day, though we tried to. Glad that when my eldest son was born and I became a stay at home mom, my son played with her a lot.

@kaka135 I was never a fan of animals or pets because we didnt have any well except for a turtle and fish. The turtle smelt bad and my mom cleaned the cage. :)

You are such a considerate and tolerant parent! And the cat is so cute! If I were them I would consider adopting he/she too! But make sure that you take your cat for a proper bath and healthcare, and make sure your kids wash their hands EVERY time they touch the kitten!

My kids have been asking me to let them raise dogs or cats, but at the moment, I don't think we can afford to let them have any pet. I don't have the time to take care of another one, though it's them who took care of the kitten, it was a street kitten and she left our home after some time.
I agree it's really nice to have a pet at home, it's like part of our family.

Yes, they were sad and disappointed, but I told them that's the nature of cats. Cats seem to like to go anywhere they want, do whatever they like, unlike dogs. Our job is to provide these cats a shelter and food.
I told them they have to take full responsibility of the kitten, and they agreed. I think it's good to let them do it, and they will learn too.

Oh yes, i have a cat that i found born to a wild cat out in a woodpile. It was very small and sick. Brought to the vet. I had to bottle feed it and give it medicines. Weighed 6 ounces. Now 4 years old and 18 pounds.
By the way, it looks like the kitten has possible ear mites, unless it's just dirt. Best to bring it to the vet to get it checked out, especially since it was a stray. Good luck.
