How to exfoliate a lot of potatoes

This post came about because (1) @JudyEv mentioned that someone in her writer’s class used their list of words to ‘exfoliate a potato’ and (2) that reminded me of this video I came across the other day which really made me laugh. Perhaps this is a way to get the man in your life to help out more with the meal prep? Just be sure to use a clean toilet brush!

Amazing My grandmother was telling "there are no bad tools, there are only bad workers." I am asking myself if he scalded the potatoes before of if it works really. If yes, it is impressive.

I guess there's only one way to find out - are you going to try it?

He should not be handling an electric tool bare foot on wet surface,, the tool might be good, bad workers does not practice safety

I have seen the video and I prefer to peel the potatoes myself than to see this mess in my kitchen.

He is not in his kitchen. I wonder how he does during cold winters.

@LadyDuck It depends of the quantity. If only I had known this trick during my military service...

@topffer I see that he is not in the kitchen, but my husband would do this in the kitchen, surely not outside. There are small electric appliances to peel the potatoes. It takes no time to do this by hand.

I hope that was a CLEAN toilet brush ! Once he cooks the potatoes, I imagine he could make fast mashed potatoes the same way !!

@Fleura I do worry about putting that powerful drill so close to the water though . . . I suppose then the potatoes (and cooker) could cook !

It made me laugh that he did point out you need a sufficiently powerful drill; he didn't bother to point out that you also need a clean toilet brush!

Simply Amazing !!!! I wonder what other tools can be attached for cutting purpose. More unique brush. I wonder how it will taste, if we think more psychological way.

That guy is mad - I saw one of him wrapping elastic bands around a watermelon until it burst once... Not sure I would like to be using an electric drill whilst standing barefoot in a puddle of water though... And thanks for the suggestion, @topffer.

I also did not thought at the danger of using a drill in water : you cannot focus on any detail.

@Daljinder Leave it lady, nobody is going to allow you to use flush cleaning brush to use for peeling potato. It would have took more time if you could step out and buy another brush.

I like eating potatoes very much. I watched this video and it made me laugh It is a little bit disgusting since it uses a tool concerning about the toilet I still prefer to use my peeler since it works nice. This way is OK but I wonder the electrical tool is waterproof or not.

Wonderful idea really. Yes you really would need a new clean Toilet Brush just to handle that. They really come up clean too. Great for those New Potatoes.

Cool but and very informative but this guy should be wearing some kind of rubber boots and gloves and not bare foot while stepping on wet surface while handling an electric tool otherwise he might end up a Russian french fried

Preferably don't do this in the rain or with water in the bucket... I LIKE the little tingles you get when the water and electricity mix! LOL! You are right! That was really funny!

I guess I'm just lazy. New potatoes....which would be the easiest to exfoliate...I just leave the skins on. Even older potatoes, unless they are tough skinned get cut up and used...skins and all.

I don't think I'll be trying that anytime soon - the potatoes still had 'eyes' left in them, and anyway I don't have a drill Thanks for the suggestion @topffer - it was fun to watch.
