No, I Didn't Give Up MyLot For Lent

So far this month I haven't been posting much, though I have been trying to read and reply to all my notifications. Things at the school, as you can imagine, have been crazy this week, leaving very little time for much else. I get home so exhausted all I want to do is turn on some music, sink into my recliner, and take a nap until my missus gets home. When I have felt a bit more energetic in the evenings, I've been working on a new story idea that came to me the other day on the way home from school. Hopefully it won't run out of steam like the last two ideas. I also dropped my latest manuscript off with my editor. She's very excited to read it. I can hardly wait to find out what she thinks. How has your March been so far?

I rented all my empty rentals, sold another today. Collected money, all is good. But getting one ready is getting on my nerves.

I have never felt differently during Lent. I do the same things as I do on other days. You have something exciting up your sleeve I notice - to get the results of your manuscript.

@allknowing Do you have and idea of what you want to write about? If so, start a notebook just for story ideas. Set aside a little time each day to sit down and write about those ideas. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad. Getting your ideas down on paper is what matters. I cannot tell you how many times I started stories that petered out before I finally wrote River Dream. The key is to keep writing.

I am excited to hear my editor's comments on the manuscript, and I've just started a new book project I'm enjoying working on.

I've been sleeping through the night most nights, but still wake up tired. I plan to spend a good bit of Spring Break doing not much but relaxing in a campsite near a river.

@DWDavis That sounds perfect! We're going to Myrtle Beach and I plan on doing quite a bit of relaxing on that vacation as well! But ours isn't until April..

@katsmeow1213 My Spring Break isn't until the 3rd week of April this year, because Easter is so late.

I did nothing exciting for this start of March, except two long walks the first and second day of March, because the days were sunny and beautiful. Good luck for your new book.

I have been on training in London to renew my teaching certificate which has to be done every two years and I am full of cold at the moment.

We renew every five years, and have to have 8 hours of continuing education credit over those 5 years.

@DWDavis I am rather hoping this will be the last time I have to do it before retirement. I am counting down the days!

@garymarsh6 I have one more renewal cycle before I retire, if I stick with it until then. I am looking at the possibility of work outside the classroom.

I'm currently plodding along since I returned home from surgery. Yesterday and today I ended up napping a good part of both days when I planned on mylotting instead. It's good that you're writing down as much of your idea for a new novel that you can so you don't forget any of what inspired you in the first place. I found two ebooks that will help me as a writer that I still need to download and then as I'm home these months decided whether to give either of them a read and follow their suggestions for publication. I have so much on my to-do list for the next three months, though, that I need to get some of those things done first before delving into ways to make more money writing. I'm not sure that I remember you work at a school too.

I hope your recovery is going well. I'm actually taking a class, online, taught by James Patterson, on writing fiction for commercial success. And yes, you remember correctly. I do teach full time at a middle school.

@DWDavis Sounds like an interesting and fun class. I'd like to hear more. If you happen to write some about it you could tag me since I'm behind here and could miss it.

Like you, I'm no quitter either :-) great news re editor's excitement over manuscript. I've had two weeks of coming to decisions over book's layout and have finally got there. I should have a copy in my hands by late next week.

My wife and I spent the morning doing much the same. Now I'm sitting at the car dealer waiting for them to finish with my truck I dropped off 5 1/2 hours ago.
