I have not been to the movies in a very long time because it is so expensive. But my daughter and I are going to go on the 17th to see Disney's Beauty and the Beast" when it comes out. And if we have enough money we will go to see the new Captain Jack Sparrow movie also made by Disney. But most of the time I will wait till the movies come out on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Movies or DVD and watch them, because it is cheaper. Do you go to the theater a lot?

@hillhjill They are not free, cheaper tho. Because cable (even local channel's), Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime cost. And so does buying or renting (Redbox) cost's too! Plus the electric, lol

No, I don't go as often as I used to because I hate sitting too long, I like to get up and move around. Next thing is movies come out on dvd a month after. So I can wait, and enjoy it in the comfort of my home.

@dfollin I get anxiety sometimes, so if going out to a movie, I kind of have to prepare myself to go.. sounds silly but it is how it is with me.

I don't often go to the cinema. Today the movie tickets are expensive. And I don't have to watch it from the cinema as you said. Besides, I don't like going to see a movie alone. That means to say we can only watch it on Saturday because it is the time we can have a day off work and school. However, it also depends on whether all of us don't have other schedules. And if the movie is not good enough, it is no need to watch it.

I went to the last movie I saw by myself. But now I do not have a car, so I have to go to a movie with someone else or watch it at home.

@dfollin I am lucky that the cinema is very close to my home. It takes about five minutes going there on foot

We have not been to the theater since the first Thor movie came out. I believe that was in 2011.

@Tina30219 We had a few dollar theaters here in the late 1980's and early 1990's where they ran movies that had come out in video then Then they were bought out and began to show only movies in other languages.

@dfollin I wish we had a cheap movie theater by where we lived but we don't. Where I use to live there use to be a 3.00 movie theater.

The last time I went to a movie theater to see a film was Swimming to Cambodia in 1987. I can go to a concert for less than a movie...so I do.

With so many options available to us, it is easier not to go to the movies. And our popcorn is better.
