'Writing' and 'Writing effectively' are two entirely different things. Making use of language to write effectively is not necessarily about using heavy words, fancy phrases and lots of idioms. Although using fancy language is also a way of impressing a reader, one can very possibly write effectively with the help of simplest of words and sentence structures. the foremost thing is to be clear about what one s writing- i.e. to be able to communicate exactly what is there in the mind. Then, the relevance of ideas is very significant. All the ideas should be related to the topic under consideration and should be creative.
Organising ideas in a coherent manner is very significant and equally difficult. There are many problems in it. For instance, most of the times, when we start expressing a thought, we keep on adding more and more words in an effort to clarify what we actually mean. Expressing thoughts clearly in a limited number of words is a skill that is hard earned and definitely required to write effectively.

Yeah I totally agree with you. It's not always necessary to add heavy words, phrases, idioms and all. I believe that the simplest the writing is more the reader enjoys it because he can understand it easily and is more comfortable .
