Tasting Pop Tarts Frosted A&W Root Beer

I had not eaten Pop Tarts in years and could not resist in trying these. How in the heck can you get root beer in a Pop Tart? Besides the price was right at the 99 Cents Store. A buck for a 28.2 oz box containing 16 pastries. I never thought Pop Tarts as being particularly healthy and surprised they contain 10% of daily Iron, Niacin and Vitamins A, B1, B2 and B6. But of course there are bad ingredients like corn syrup. There are 200 calories per pastry. Icing is colored to resemble root beer foam. You can smell root beer aroma when popped out of the toaster. Taste is not so much root beer as filling flavor is rather faint. They are okay tasting but not great. Better to stick with chocolate filling.

Good grief, I haven't heard anything about A&W in decades, I actually worked at one of those back in 1969. Hey, they did have fantastic burgers though.

Oh yeah, we still have A&W here -- though they're usually inside of gas stations. Go figure.

I had these when they first came out. Still reminds me of why I stick to toaster strudels....

I used to like one flavor a few decades ago... what was it...something involving brown sugar or maple? If I ate a Pop Tart today I might go all Linda Blair on those around me.

I've had these. They're alright, could have been better. The Orange Crush ones are the same way.

I want to try it haha I am a sucker for rootbeer. I like eating poptarts uncooked so maybe it will have more of a taste. I want to try the orange crush one too. Just an orange poptart sounds nice haha

For that price I would have bought them too just to try them out.

Great price. But I would pay up for Chocolate. That is the only flavor I like. But they are way to sweet.. The older I get the less sugar I need..

That would be interesting to try. I will be on the look out for it at the grocery store.

Doesn't sound bad nor good, I used to eat PopTarts when I lived in the states. Now they don't have them here so it is just as well.

I remember trying pop tarts years ago and then I had a nibble of one not long back. It was incredibly sweet, much more than I remembered. Don't think I shall touch one again

I don't think any of the stores here still carry this flavor. I did see a frappachino or mocha flavored pop tart the other day at Winn Dixie though.

I've never been a big poptart fan, when I do I prefer to eat them like a cookie, untoasted. -- this sounds good though. I love rootbeer
