Clouds and Trees Rarely Lie -
When birds hide and the squirrels lay low,
trees all feel the winds that blow
the clouds on high, grass close to ground,
clouds racing by, and lots of sound.
I watch this all and make my wish
that wind should stop so I might fish.
Tomorrow fish will fill my plate
Tomorrow, not some later date.
The winds whip up the waves too high.
Fish don't like that, nor do I.
The fish go deeper when seas rise.
To them, clouds never cause surprise.
Bait and poles at ready keep.
I'll dream of fishing as I sleep.
Come morning clouds will blow away.
My fish will be there come the day.
