Well, Spring Time is almost upon us and that brings to mind two posts I made a couple of years back. Both go under the title of 'I like', the first was 'I like - Summer mornings' the second 'I like - Autumn days'. (Neither of which I can post here, because they have already been made public). So, you will just have to take my word they are great little posts! I even turned 'Summer mornings' into a video. Anywayhow….as I said at the beginning, Spring is not so far away and that got me thinking about what 'I like' about Spring Time. These are some of the things: I like Crisp Spring mornings when the mist hangs in the air. I like the busyness of birds building their nests. I like freshly ploughed fields, neat furrows of freshly turned earth. I like…. Well, that's enough of what I like, what do you like about Springtime? Write a few 'I like' lines in the comments about the things you enjoy, the things that make you feel alive and happy or content.

Under my flat there is what I call a park though it is really only a very large garden which divides my block from the next one. There are many bushes and trees and with the longer and warmer days the birds will start singing and the bushes will start blooming. The first will be the yellow Forsythia. Once the days get warmer the gardeners will come to give the grass its first cut and finally it will be warm enough to have the windows open for most of the day and the scent of the freshly cut grass will replace the stuffy smell of the central heating. Events will start taking place outside in the evenings: bars will have live music, there will be concerts and exhibitions and Sunday markets will fill the squares ... and then roll on summer !

@TheRamblingMan I can spend the evenings on my balcony and hear it most nights as there is always something somewhere local once we change the clocks and the evenings are much warmer here than they are in UK too

@MALUSE When I first came here I had terrible problems with the hot summers (and my son was born in August of the third summer and that was a horrible time) but I have been here so long that I am used to them now. here in the north we rarely have more than two weeks of really stifling heat and i stay indoors as much as I can during that time. I like my summer holiday at the sea in September as July and August would be too hot even there for me (not to mention the higher prices and the higher number of people too).

Love the sound of faint, distant music in the air on a warm evening

American Goldfinch Eating Thistle by minx267
I love spring.. the new and colorful blooms, taking pictures of them all, The smell of Lilacs, and hyacinth. Watching the leaves unfurl and the trees turn green. the smell of the spring rains. I think spring is my favorite season. I'll leave you with this colorful bird- an American Goldfinch I photographed a few years ago at a buffet restaurant I was going to.. and this is why I carry my camera with me everywhere.. he was there for a couple of minutes eating Thistle and then he was gone..

That's a shame...although I could often do without such cold winters! I will swap you a two months of your summer for two of my spring?
