When I was growing up I was blessed with a little brother. It wasn't what I wanted at the time, I wanted a sister. But, sometimes someone knows better than you what you need.
As we grew up we got along well but I was still longing for a sister. I wanted someone I could share secrets with and do things with. Someone who had the same interests as I. Someone to share a room with.
As I became a teenager I realized that I got exactly what I should have gotten. I think if I had to share a room at that age we would probably had a get many battles especially if she were like me.
I began to appreciate my brother. After all, it turned out that he wasn't a pain or pest the way I expected he would be and he was there when I needed him.
As an adult I learned that I appreciated the fact that I had a brother. He was strong when I needed strength and lent a listening ear when I needed it.
It turned out that he was just what I needed. I'm so glad I had a brother.

I had a step brother for seven years. He was mean and almost abusive to me at times. I wonder what ever became of him. He was adopted and had a lot of anger.

I get where you're coming from. I grew up with two elder brothers and spend almost all of my childhood days whining over 'not having a sister'. But, I now realize, in the company of my 2 elder brothers, I have learned to appreciate everything in front of me, from books to videogames.
I remember, once going for a video game championship with my brothers. I was the only girl there and almost beat a guy in round one.
While I headed up the stage, a group of boys kept teasing and laughing at me. But, after they saw the way I played, theyjust applauded! Even though I lost!
I don't think I'd change anything. My brothers are the best. They've always been there for me!
