safety or revenue are tickets really for my safety

I support Police officers 100%, however last weekend I drove to see my gf. It Than we went for a drive, during my two hour drive. I saw 3 police officers, and two speed traps. I have a radar detector so, I knew every single one was doing speed enforcement. Is all that really for my safety, someone chime in here.

I think you can go a little bit over the speed limit but not to much.I think 10 higher is okay.

ya but do they really need speed traps, I mean I do not see the point of two officers hiding trying to trap speeders. One cop was hidden and his buddy pulled you over, how is that protecting my safety.
