Women's Day should be celebrated everyday!

8th March - Women Power, Equality, Feminism !! - International Women's Day!
9th March - "Look at the way she's dressed", OMG she drinks alcohol and smokes" "OMG she doesn't know how to cook" !!
The whole meaning of "Women's day" is lost when women are being judged for what they wear, their lifestyle and not being the perfect cook - for focusing more on their career than planning a child.
~ Today is not about just holding doors for us, it's about supporting us while we break the glass ceilings ~ if you know what I mean!
Empowering women all over MyLot!

The sad thing is that there are, and probably will always be, some men who will never see women as anything other than second class citizens. No amount of women's days, feminism etc. etc. will ever change those people's opinions.
Quite often it is a religious and/or cultural thing that is deeply ingrained in the fabric of their society.

@cxndie It is quite ironic that some of the countries in the grip of the most misogynist religions have had more female political leaders than many so-called more enlightened Western countries!!
I'm not sure that the problem lies in the more visible and glamorous areas of society. It's more of a problem in areas where girls are refused the right to an education or where they are treated as pawns in ridiculous feuds over so-called family honour.
These sort of deeply-held cultural beliefs are always going to be difficult, if not impossible, to change.

Yes I absolutely agree. We're just as strong at heart, in our minds and bodies as men. Not frail and petite as we are made out to be.
