Have you ever tried a food that you don't like and realized it was pretty good?

I am not a fan of fish at all. Today I decided to try this salmon with maple chipotle sauce that I bought the other day at the grocery store. I know salmon is good for you and I really wanted to like it but I wasn't expecting much.
Wow what a pleasant surprise! It was so good! I immediately went online and found some great recipes for it so I am going to make my own next time. I never thought I would be saying anything good about fish ever.
I guess you never really know unless you try.

That is good then. We ate a lot of fish when we were kids because my Dad was a fisherman at that time so I got pretty tired it. I always swore when I got old enough to buy my own food it would not be fish!! lol

@Happy2BeMe There are things that I have tried and I will not eat a second time, among them snails and raw oysters, those are things that I have not appreciated.

I'm not a fish person either. I don't like spicy foods at all either. My husband had mild wings last week. Usually I wouldn't even try those but they smelled really good. I tried them and I have been craving them ever since now! Lol.

lol Isn't it funny how that goes? I enjoy wings too but I don't like them to be too hot.

I love fish and this looks yummy. My boyfriend got me to try sour krout and I never liked it before but the stuff I tried was pretty good. Now don't ask me to try mushrooms yuck it is a texture thing.

@Happy2BeMe What I mean by texture is the way it feels it is slimy. Now pumpkin pie I love give me a pie with a can of whipped cream.

I tried sour krout when I was young and didn't like it but my fiance loves it. I may like it now. I do eat mushrooms but I do understand what you mean by the texture thing. That is the way that I am with pumpkin pie.

I love pan seared salmon and then I make a special sauce out of maple syrup and just a touch of vinegar and drizzle that over it-wow, so incredibly great. I tried that at a restaurant once and found I do like it. And actually I'm thinking that is what is on our menu for tomorrow night.

@Happy2BeMe I use 2 parts maple syrup and 1 part vinegar, it is so delicious, and then I sprinkle some almond slices over the top when I serve them.

Long time ago I didn't like celery at all. I tried to avoid it all the time. Until one day we had a laboring activity from school for a week. There was not enough food there and the food was very simple and plain. We had hard labor in the daytime. It was tiring and we all felt hungry after that. But there was always the celery in the food. I had to eat it since I had no other choices. Perhaps I was so hungry and I didn't find the celery taste so horrible. Since that, I enjoy eating celery

I always try new foods, not once but twice because the first time it may have not been cooked right. I am a fish lover, I have not ate one I did not like.

I was not a fan of onions at all for most of my life, but sneaky Anne slowly got me hooked on green onions and cooked sweet onions. I still don't care for strong raw ones. We like fish a lot and cook fresh fish at least once a week, but Anne like salmon less than any.
