Pee-Wee's Big Adventure

In director Tim Burton's 1985 comedy Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (Burton's feature film directorial debut,) Pee-Wee Herman's (Paul Reubens) beloved tricked out bicycle is stolen, and while he can't prove it, Pee-Wee suspects his enemy, Francis (Mark Holton.)
After a psychic tells him that the bike is in the basement of The Alamo, Pee-Wee sets off on a cross country adventure. Along the way, Pee-Wee encounters an escaped felon (Judd Omen,) a giant jealous boyfriend (Jon Harris,) a biker gang known as Satan's Helpers, and a mysterious trucker named "Large Marge" (Alice Nunn.) Meanwhile, Pee-Wee manages to fend off the long distance advances made by his bike mechanic, Dottie (Elizabeth Daily,) who has a crush on him.
Based on the classic 1948 Italian film The Bicycle Thief, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is so silly that it's hilarious. Bicycling Magazine once declared it the best cycling movie ever (although they also recently named it simply one of the "Best Cycling Movies that aren't Breaking Away.")
And why not? Pee-Wee is hilarious in his determination to let nothing stand in the way of reuniting himself with his bike. Like all Tim Burton films, it's a little bizarre (ok, it's Pee-Wee Herman. It's just bizarre.) But man, is it full of laughs.
If you don't think Pee-Wee is funny, there's nothing here that will change your mind. Me, I crack up everytime watch this classic 80's comedy.

@teamfreak16 And Fred Willard had a similar public incident and it didn't seem to affect his career at all.

Yeah, but Ruebens didn't harm anyone. His career, maybe, but he's made a comeback.

@JohnRoberts - I do. I even remember when he was on MASH as "Larry" Fishburne.

I didn't even know he was in that. I've heard good things, but I've never seen it.

I used to watch Pee-Wees Playhouse when I was little and I loved it. I did not see the movie you mentioned but I did watch most of his newest movie. It was funny and silly as I expected. He is in his 60s now and still looks the same.
