My girlfriend almost killed me!

I commented innocently that she gained a few pounds and she literally nearly flipped. She was kind of paranoid saying I was giving her a hint and started talking loud about it. 
I didn't understand the reason for her reaction (considering she's calm). Then, talking better... She told me that the situation in her work is not nice lately. However, I had no idea of anything.
In the end... Everything is fine, but I'll make sure that I'll never comment on those subject again (I almost felt like a criminal 
).

@1creekgirl I am really curious why @theInvisibleman never commented back to everyone here? It is as if he expected everyone to disagree with her and say he did nothing wrong?!
BTW, I didn't think it was really a killing offense, either... but maiming I could see, easily enough! LOL!

Wow you are lucky to have gotten off as easily as your did!! That is a big no in any relationship. I am sure she is well aware if she put on a few pounds she does not have to be reminded. I am sure she was very hurt and upset by your comment.

I actually wrote a discussion about this and it got lost when I went to post it so I didn't bother to rewrite it. I just threw my hands in the air, said a few not so nice words and walked away
