I think they are funtastic. There is an article I found below about a dinosaur that somewhat resembles our present day long neck:
Brachiosaurus stood taller than most dinosaurs, on forelegs that were longer than its hind legs. Its long neck made it look like a giraffe.

Me and a good friend went to the Dallas Zoo in the 70s and at that time we watched as a giraffe was licking the bricks in his home there at the zoo so I named him, "Riticulated Brick Licker." I don't know why but at the time that sounded kind of funny. Actually it is just because of the type of animal it was, a Riticulated Giraffe. Funny name for an animal that likes to lick brick.
