...."Kiri Amma" Alms Giving at Home....

We had this special event at our place on saturday morning... 3.30am. "Kiri Amma Dhana" is a traditional event which people arrange in their homes to give blessings for their kids. For that we invite 7( or multiples of 7 ) mothers(there are groups of people who are attending these events).... They should have given birth to at least one child and the periods should have been stopped for them...thats the condition for people whos willing to join this event. Those ladies visit our homes with the statue of "Goddess Pattini" (patron goddess of fertility and health), and they pray for kids and others in the family. We offer special foods for them. Milk rice, Oil cakes, Kiriya, Banana and many more...and also offer some special gifts after the prayers. If you wanna know more about this, please click the link.

Buddhism means lord budhdha... Not gods n goddess... But we do worship gods as well
