My Adorable Cat, & Her Love/Hate Relationship With Cleaning

Growing up my family had dogs, and I recently realized that my dad's "clean freak" ways were an absolute blessing. I've never been someone who needs things to be incredibly tidy or organized, and over the last few years I let the mess get away from me. Having a cat has definitely not made it easier. I always know it's passed that time when Phantom, my black and white beauty, gives me the look that says, "Mummy, I can't run around in this mess, and your sitting around is boring me."
She loves when I put on music and clean. She follows me around from room to room watching what I do, watching her toys start to reappear, and here and there throughout it, we play "Getchya!" Of course, when I really get going after a long while of ignoring it, and am determined to get a lot done before stopping, she starts to get annoyed at that as well.
I found it very difficult trying to use a scrub brush on my area rug, because she kept plopping down where I was about to start, and stretching out with that adorable "I'm so cute, rub my belly" smirk. Over and over I would move her as she tried her best to stay limp. Slowly but surely her stare changed from one of determination, to one of a sad child who doesn't understand, and I knew exactly what her face was saying. "But Mummy, why are you brushing the carpet? I'm right here!"
I still haven't finished cleaning my area rug. Maybe I'll get to it after some more cuddles. My girl is way too cute!

@bwjsdems That's cute. My Phantom Menace likes to think she's people, and is always trying to lay on my keyboard or my iPad. She's even nuzzled up against my guitar.

When I clean one of my cats has to bite the broom, or she won't let me pass by her, something about the broom handle, she must bite.

Aww! That's so sweet that you took in a stray! I got Phantom from the humane society, someone found her on the side of the road outside a forest. After that and being stuck in a tiny cage for a while she seemed immensely pleased when she arrived at her new safe home :)

Usually nice but don't be fooled by her sweet smile, she's a rather intelligent Phantom Menace when she wants to be! Lol

I used to basically hate cats. I was allergic, and they were everywhere I went, then everywhere I lived, and for some reason they always wanted rub themselves all over me and my fresh clean laundry and all my stuff, which just made me hate them more. But Phantom can turn anyone to her side! There is something indescribably special about her! I will definitely be sharing more stories about her peculiar ways, and who knows, maybe she'll even turn someone into a cat lover all the way across the internet! Lol
