So, yesterday I went to play pickleball to get some badly needed exercise. The lady who is in charge of the group is quite old..She is at least 75..anyway, I don't go regularly..last time I went it was heaven as she was busy teaching some total newbies the game..and paid no attention to me..this time as no one was new..and I was the junior player she kept telling me what to do and critquing my performance the whole game! one thing I hate is a micromanager. She at one point said do you want me to shut up?? I felt like saying yessssss! I just wish she would find someone else to bug. I realize I may not be perfect but at this point, I would rather rely on other players to tell me if I am doing something wrong. I don't want her to prevent me from enjoying the game. How should I handle this if I go again? Just be upfront I guess..and if she is offended she is offended.

this is a worse case of telling what to do.We have this in tennis.the way I handle this.thank you.Can you wait after the game and then tell me what I am doing wrong.Hopefully that this will keep her quiet.Like me way back before I got better.LOL.One guy always tells what I am doing wrong.I got sort of PO on this.then I approach him.Thank you and will seek your advice. Now let us play tennis and enjoy ourself. they never bother me any more.It turned out I was a much better player than he.LOL I only play pickleball once.Or do not play with her any more.Oh I can go on and go.Someone had something in post leaving comments too longThey can bite me

I don't like when certain people have to control things like that. I hope she doesn't hinder you from enjoying the game.

I think I am just going to tell her next time..I just want to play without her critiques.

This is a hard one but I'd try to think of something not too rude to say to her. Not sure what though. :)

The next time she asks, "do you want me to shutup", say yes.
