Do you still use a landline?

This question may have come on here before, but just curious, I have a cell number and a number that they call home connect which is supposed to replace a landline, but it is in fact a cellphone type set up. It is just designed to be used at home and comes with a base, and connects to phones used in the home etc. I don't really need it but it comes in handy sometimes.

I have issues with dropped calls from time to time on both of them. The reception is about equal on both I think

@fishtiger58 I have the Verizon Home Connect as my landline. I tried Vonage years ago..but it is a VOIP and didn't work right out here in the boonies.

@snowy22315 I use OOMA as my landline, it's connected to the internet. I pay about 5 bucks a month for unlimited use. I can call long distance all day long still only 5 bucks a month. But you have to buy their device, anywhere from 100 to 150 bucks one time only. We have had it now for 4 years works great.

I still use a landline and I am one of the few people who don't even own a cell phone.

Gee, why don't you have a cellphone? The only people I know who don't use cellphones are older people, who just don't make them a part of their life. Even my parents have cellphones! With your weather up there I would think you would really need one!

@snowy22315 I have no desire to have one. I had one years ago and just never used it. I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I use it in a year. I am not a phone person at all. I barely use my landline.

@Happy2BeMe They are really helpful in case of emergency though. I love my smartphone, with all the cool money making and saving apps it has.

I do have a landline, which I only use for work. I use my cellphone more.

cellphone seems to be easier to grab, most of the time.

@amitkokiladitya THere is a flat fee for the home connect, and right now someone else is paying the bill. I pay for the minutes I use on my cellphone myself. It is a separate device.

we still have a landline and it's active for the past 10 years now, but nobody ever calls, or we rarely even use it, unless we call somebody from the same telephone provider. the last time i remember using it was when i reported an issue with the dsl. landline service here ain't cheap, so people will just choose facebook messenger or text service.

It comes in handy if you have to call your cellphone provider from another number. I definitely use it then.

Nope, no landline. Had thought about getting something similar to what you refer to here. Atleast I think it'd be the same. It was a landline type deal from straight talk, with the base like you referred to. Instead, a cellphone was bought for another family member and that was that.

We have a mobile phone for emergencies but use the landline almost exclusively.

I would say for me it is half and half. I use both about equally.

We gave up our land line about 4 years ago. Don't miss it at all.
