Where are you in this Transition?

Do you think people around really care much for writings?
Everyone has some feeling, something to express, some unsaid words, some usual one, frightening, inspirational, something so casual.. etc.
And everyone is walking with these among themselves. But the love and passion for poem.. i feel it is walking sole. Feels like it is missing some listener.
There are many blogs i have gone through and found thousands of poems and extracts over there, so meaningful, so much depth. All of it with rare viewers.
I think it's not because people are so intense busy or that the era of poetry is slowly something like vanishing.
No, it can't be.
this is because some of the passions are fighting in this state of transition. Transition of works done manual to digitization. Transition of sitting and gossiping to online chatting. Transition of standing in front of mirror and self discussion to posting selfie and looking for likes and comments.
where are you? Do you listen to somebody sitting beside?
Or you are also just the passenger of this time train travelling into this transition.
:)

I think that many people are too caught up in what they are doing, thinking, feeling, etc. to care about what anyone else is saying. Then again, if what the other person is doing is gossip-worthy, then it might get noticed. I find this very sad and not good for the future of our society.
I do think that people need to stop being so self-absorbed and pay more attention to the people around them. What do you think?

exactly sir, you took my words.
The self-absorption is the exact issue of the society right now. People simply care about self, everything regarding self only, as if only that person has so important emotions and sensations. Rather the bliss hidden in understanding others is something they don't wanna seek.
People need to practice some of those old traditions so that they won't give lonely feelings a lonely space.

@AnthOcean I completely agree with you. I find it sad that I am raising my child in a world where "selfies" are commonplace. Perhaps I am "old-fashioned", but I like the days when pictures might show you in a picture with family or friends ... or perhaps a candid shot of you taken by somebody else ... but certainly you would not be the main focus of most of your own pictures. It is difficult to teach our children to not be so "self-centered" when they are encountering it not only with their peers but also with many of their adult role models.
There is a fine balance between having a healthy self-image and sense of self without being self-centered, and I think we are failing miserably as a society in walking this line.
