U.S. Constitution SECTION 8
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.......................... Definition of "Welfare"-the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization............ So the Constitution says that Congress shall provide for the "health" of it's citizens in a uniform (consistent) manner. Congress has to provide universal health care for it's citizens...........or it will be disobeying the U.S. Constitution.

It says that "Congress shall have Power" not that it has to exercise that power. The U.S. is nearly $20 trillion in debt right now. If the Congress were to pass a law that provides universal health care for everyone we would probably have to renege on all our debts.
I never minded paying for health insurance for myself. I did mind when my policy was cancelled because it did not meet the new rules. My policy was perfect for me and affordable. Now I'm uninsured and have to pay a fine every year because I can't afford to pay over $1,000 a month for a policy. I'm sick and getting sicker but can't afford to do anything about it. I don't want universal health care, I just want insurance that I can afford.

@RhoShambo You are right in implying that trillions have been spent irresponsibly and in many cases needlessly. I am saying that we could be a booming, prosperous country if we would cut the spending, pay the debt, and let the market take care of itself when it comes to health insurance. Our last two presidents left a financial disaster and now we have to clean it up.
