Do long-running movies often bother you?

March 19, 2017 5:22pm CST
I don't know it it's because I'm totally addicted to cinema and I go often, but long-running movies never bothered me (except for those movies stretching the story without any need ). If the movie is interesting and good, I don't really care if it's too long. How do you feel about them?

Vintage movies ranging from Gone With The Wind to The Godfather (Lawrence of Arabia in between) are so engrossing you don't notice extended running times. However, I am suspicious of any contemporary film running over two hours as I find they are bloated and in dire need of editing.

John, I saw Gone With the Wind again not too long ago and really enjoyed it again. That is a classic like Casablanca. By the way I still have not seen all of Casablanca.

Hmm... I also don't really care if a movie is very long. As long as it's interesting to me.

It depends on the plot itself. I've watched long movies that held my interest the entire time but some other movies make me bored less than halfway through.

Argh. Titanic. I hated that movie. What is supposed to make it good?

I know this is from March but it can apply anytime. I also get bored with movies that are too long and the point was made before and it goes on and on and on.

I get annoyed sometimes if the movie is too long. I remember watching one of The Lord of the Rings films and feeling like my legs were going to go completely numb .

It would depend solely on the type of movie and how much I am enjoying it. A thoroughly intriguing one would never seem too long, whereas a mediocre one would certainly become a drag after a while.

if they're at least interesting,it doesn't bother me.hell,i watched the extended copy of the original dune.. there's some movies of average length tho (90 minutes or so) that seem to drag worse than a long movie..

even normal time movies bore me sometimes. It really just depends on the movie

If the movie is entertaining, I wont notice how long it is. But if its boring then it will feel long.

Well if I don't like the film yes it is boring but if I do like it carry on. Course I do not watch films I don't like, I shut them off.

The Godfather was a really long movie (3 hours, I guess) and it was fantastic. When I watched it, I didn't notice the time passing by.

as long as the scenes or dialogues on a film is interconnected to the main plot, though that can be at times, confusing, but that does not bother me at all. i think i'll watch a clear and a present danger later. ;)

Long movies do not bother me either, unless I have to pee or they just are not that good.
