A few days back I wrote a post regarding a river in New Zealand that was given human status in. And within a week one of the High Courts in India gave a verdict where Ganga and Yamuna rivers were status of living entity.
It means now that the Ganga and Yamuna rivers will be treated like a natural person but only through a designated person.
Hopefully this verdict will reach to the ultimate goal - clean, unpolluted rivers.

Since the last 3 years or so this has been going on. Just talk but no walk.

Keeping the world's rivers clean is very important. Even if only a little is achieved it will still be a positive step.

@ichchhe_mrityu And perhaps other countries will make similar recommendations which would be good too.

Exactly.. but I am really surprised for the verdict... may be the verdict is influenced by the verdict of New Zealand.

This verdict is surely going to improve the conditions of these waterbodies.
